Effect of talc/BA in-situ polymerization on mechanical properties of PP-matric composites

滑石粉 /BA原位聚合对聚丙烯复合材料力学性能的影响

摘 要:采用滑石粉/丙烯酸丁酯(BA)原位乳液聚合,制备了表面包覆聚丙烯酸丁酯填充料,再与聚丙烯共混.结果表明,滑石粉对 BA无阻聚作用,表面包覆的聚丙烯酸丁酯(PBA)能有效地解决复合材料的界面粘接,并存在一临界 PBA包覆层厚度 .

  Filler-reinforced polymer composites have attracted considerable attention due to their enhanced properties.However,the tensile and impact strength of these composites is weak due to the difference in surface energy between the inorganic fillers and polymer matrix.Therefore,improving the interfacial adhesion between the inorganic particles and the polymer matrix by modifying the filler surface becomes inevitable in toughening the composites.Recently,some new approaches,have been developed for particulate surface treatment to produce high performance PRPC[1,2].In this paper,the in-situ polymerization of butyl acrylate (BA) on the surface of the micro-sized talc was performed by using the batch seed emulsion polymerization.The treated talc was subsequently used to fill polypropylene(PP).It is expected that the PBA covered on the surface of talc can improve the mechanical properties of the PP-matrix composites.
